In Range Extender mode, the RE605X wirelessly connects to your existing router and rebroadcasts the signal to areas with weak coverage. In Access Point mode, connect an Ethernet cable to the Gigabit port and the device will create a high-speed Wi-Fi hotspot from that wired link. With a OneMesh™ router, the extender becomes part of a unified mesh for smooth roaming between nodes under one network name.
Will this work with my current router? Yes—RE605X works with virtually any router or gateway. OneMesh™ features require a compatible TP-LINK router.
Do I get full AX1800 speeds? AX1800 is the combined theoretical maximum. Real-world throughput will be lower and depends on placement, interference, client hardware, and whether you use wireless or wired backhaul.
Can I keep my existing Wi-Fi name? Yes—if your router supports OneMesh™ you can use a single SSID with seamless roaming. Otherwise, you can mirror SSIDs manually or use separate extender SSIDs.
